A search for harmony and balance is inherent in the collaborative work of Philip Baldwin and Monica Guggisberg. This extends to their unique integration of the Scandinavian "hot" overlay technique with the Venetian "cold" techniques of battuto and inciso. Together, the wheel-engraved "beaten" surface of battuto, and the rectilinear indentations of inciso create a harmonious blend of colorful textures and elegant forms. |
