Artist's Statement
The three foundational elements of my original paintings are texture, pattern and colour. Each composition is a geometric construct that progresses like a puzzle from the first laid segment toward a dynamically balanced whole.
The intent with this chromatically-titled series of lithographs was to create strong high contrast images dominated by black-on-light pattern and saturated primary colour. These elements pay tribute to the classic modernism rooted in the Bauhaus of the 1920s.
I'm very pleased with the result of this new edition of hand-pulled lithographs. The colour intensity and contrast are equal to the original concept in every way. .
